Jurassic World Evolution does a fantastic job of recreating the look and feel of Jurassic Park’s dinosaurs, but the actual park management gameplay has a fair number of frustrations that hold the whole thing back. Luckily, Frontier has a major update coming soon that will address many common criticisms – including the size of the dinosaurs.
The big carnivores are getting a size rebalance to bring them in line with fan expectations. The T-Rex will go from 14m to 13.5m, the Spinosaurus will bulk up from 13.7m to 15m, and the Giganotosaurus will go from from 12m to 13.5m. Poor Ceratosaurus will shrink from 9.6m to 9m.
Sandbox mode will now have a bunch of additional options letting you tweak the difficulty. You can turn off dinosaur aging, adjust how much cash you have, and tweak the effects of factors like dinosaur ratings and guest counts. You can also disable power requirements, and – at last – disable feeder resupplies.
Isla Nublar will also host a new challenge mode. The mode will offer four difficulty options, and have new mechanics like fees collected by the Hammond Foundation, and contract cancellation penalties. You’re competing for completion times, and can unlock new skins by finishing the mode.

Once you’ve completed the base islands with 5-star ratings, you’ll be able to switch between four different lighting options on each island to vary up the time of day. There are also new camera options, letting view the dinos from guest viewing areas and the monorail. Plus there’s an array of new contract types to vary up your short term goals.
Then there are the general changes. You can cancel research and incubations, read dino health and comfort requirements from the genome library, and – at last – carnivores will now only hunt when they’re hungry, aside from the Indoraptor and Indominus Rex.
All this and some more as-yet-unconfirmed features come to Jurassic World Evolution in a free update on September 13. If you’re having trouble holding all your dinos until then, check out our enclosure guide – though it sounds like things are getting a bit easier soon.
There's a large amount of dinosaurs that you can unlock and add to your very own Jurassic Park in Jurassic World Evolution.
Each dinosaur might take awhile to get, however. You need to progress through the main campaign to unlock most of the dig sites that will then give you fossils for new and more dangerous dinosaurs.
But how do you find these fossils? And which dinosaurs are available? Here's everything you need to know about the dinosaurs and fossils in Jurassic World Evolution.
There are over 40 dinosaurs available to add to your park. Five of them are available as exclusive DLC to Deluxe Edition owners. The dinosaurs available in Jurassic World Evolution right now include:
Fossils can be found at in-game dig sites that are based on real-life locations. Each dig site offers you the chance to get a fossil for a specific type of dinosaur that you can then extract DNA from to incubate an egg. Certain dig sites are only available for completing missions in the career mode.
These dig sites, and the dinosaurs you can get from them, include:
This list will be updated as we try to find and unlock everything in-game.
